Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro (CFGG) - Grants and Community Relations Internship

Company Description 

The Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro (CFGG) is a public charity serving Guilford, Alamance, Randolph and Rockingham Counties in North Carolina.  Under the direction of a volunteer board of community leaders the Foundation receives charitable funds from donors, invests those funds, distributes funds to charitable causes and provides services and grants to nonprofit agencies and the community.

Intern Responsibilities

The Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro Grants & Community Relations intern will work with key staff to gather project-specific information and research, develop project infographics, and coordinate project activities on a variety of strategic focus areas, including:
CFGG Grant making Programs
Community Indicators
Foundation Scholarships; and
Affordable Housing.
In addition, the internship will also include opportunities to collaborate with CFGG staff and volunteers on projects with elements of marketing/communications, financial management, development/fundraising, and community relations/grant making.

As the Foundation is currently developing a new strategic plan, the coming summer will be an exciting time of transition at The Community Foundation!

$10/hour

Please note: all Fellows will attend the Leonard Kaplan Leadership Institute at the Center for Creative Leadership on either June 11 & 12, 2018 or June 18 & 19, 2018. If hired as an intern through the Fellows Program, you will attend one of the sessions in June.

Required Qualifications:

Knowledge and Experience:

Has experience in conducting research projects involving the collection and analysis of data in the public policy arena

Pursuing related degree (or graduate coursework)

Demonstrates good verbal and writing skills

Professionalism:

Conducts self in a professional manner

Follows and supports Foundation policies and procedures

Maintains appropriate professional appearance

Maintains confidentiality

Teamwork:

Participates as a team member utilizing a collaborative style to achieve mutual goals

Demonstrates ability to work effectively with diverse groups

Adapts behavior or work in response to new information, or unexpected or changing conditions

Communications:

Communicates clearly and appropriately in verbal and written communications

Demonstrates tact and respect for all constituents

Availability to follow a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends
