Intern Responsibilities
The Arch MI Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) department supports all business units in identifying, measuring, monitoring, controlling and continuously reporting on the risks to which Arch MI is or could potentially be exposed.  This function is also responsible for the development of the requisite strategies, controls and reporting processes.  The Enterprise Risk Management department reports relevant risks to the appropriate risk committees within Arch MI, the Arch MI Board of Directors and Arch Capital Group Ltd.

The ERM Summer Intern will:

Participate in ERM Learning Rotations:  Prior to beginning more involved projects, the first project for the Enterprise Risk Management intern will be brief learning rotations across each area of the Enterprise Risk Management group.  Understanding the basic elements of Enterprise Risk Management, and knowing the key personnel will provide a critical foundation for additional project work

Assist with the revision to Enterprise Risk Management policies

Assist with the preparation of reporting on key risk metrics throughout the organization

Assist in the risk and control self-assessment across the organization

Assist with the implementation of a group-wide Governance, Risk and Control tool

Provide recommendations for process improvements

Pay Rate

Range: $18 - $20/hour

Average work week: 37.5-40 hours


Monday-Friday. Hours may vary by department, but 8/8:30 - 5 pm daily

Start date firm, end date has a little flexibility. Interns must be able to complete all Fellows programming throughout the second week of August 2018.
Please note: all Fellows will attend the Leonard Kaplan Leadership Institute at the Center for Creative Leadership on either June 11 & 12, 2018 or June 18 & 19, 2018. If hired as an intern through the Fellows Program, you will attend one of the sessions in June.

Required Qualifications:

BA/BS Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field
Currently pursuing or completed graduate degree preferred
Proficient in MS Office product suite
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work under pressure while ensuring accuracy and completeness of information
Excellent written/verbal communication, organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications:

Currently pursuing or completed graduate degree
