The Global Opportunities (GO) Center is a connecting hub that develops talent for growing businesses and creating a global identity for Greensboro and our region. By linking an extensive network of globally focused university students, businesses, and university, government and community partners, we are able to align strategic efforts to develop Greensboro's potential to develop as a vibrant and globally engaged community.

Intern Responsibilities

The TREI program will hire college students from local Triad colleges and universities as paid interns. They will work to assist rural companies in the initiative who are looking to begin or increase exports. We are specifically looking for students majoring in international business or related fields, with skills and experience in a number of areas including: research, data analytics, marketing, foreign languages, or export experience. Under the direction of GO Center staff, interns will work with local companies on a variety of projects related to exporting. Tasks may include, but are not limited to: website development, social media research/marketing, international market research, business analysis, data analytics, translating, and creating digital content.

Pay Rate

$2,500 for 10-weeks



Office is open Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm and the schedule is flexible within these hours. Some evening events may be required.

Please note: all Fellows will attend the Leonard Kaplan Leadership Institute at the Center for Creative Leadership on either June 11 & 12, 2018 or June 18 & 19, 2018. If hired as an intern through the Fellows Program, you will attend one of the sessions in June.

International business/business, technology related, marketing, communication/media studies, or other related fields.

Excellent written and oral communication, ability to network professionally.
Preferred Qualifications:

Foreign language skills, international experience, completed business coursework.

Work Environment

HQ Greensboro, located in downtown Greensboro, is a shared workspace designed to empower, foster, and cultivate businesses that produce long-term job growth and positive social impact. Our center has our own office space within the building, and interns will have the opportunity to work in communal spaces. Some local travel to meet with companies is also likely.
