Intern Responsibilities

The Arch MI IT Governance and Enterprise Architecture group works to evaluate technology solutions and establish standards for Arch MI. We compare and contrast technologies, the advantages, the disadvantages, evaluate the costs, and make recommendations for the benefit of Arch MI. We also evaluate the performance of IT and help coordinate the introduction of change into our environments through Change and Release Management.

The summer intern will:
-Evaluate and review existing or new technology solutions
-Document the analysis that was performed capturing, advantages, disadvantages, and costs
-Perform proof of concepts or technical evaluations as necessary
-Review existing standards lists and update as necessary
-Collaborate with members of IT Governance and Enterprise Architecture
-Collect monthly metrics from various teams
-Present findings to the IT Governance Team members

Pay Rate

Range: $18 - $20/hour

Average work week: 37.5-40 hours


Monday-Friday. Hours may vary by department, but 8/8:30 - 5 pm daily

Start / End date flexible?

Start date firm, end date has a little flexibility. Interns must be able to complete all Fellows programming throughout the second week of August 2018.
Please note: all Fellows will attend the Leonard Kaplan Leadership Institute at the Center for Creative Leadership on either June 11 & 12, 2018 or June 18 & 19, 2018. If hired as an intern through the Fellows Program, you will attend one of the sessions in June.

Required Qualifications:

-IT course of study and experience is a must.
-Prefer experience in Software Development with Java related technologies, Databases (SQL or DB2), Infrastructure experience like Windows and/or Linux.
-Comfortable performing detailed analysis, documenting, and presenting the results.
-Experience with comparing financial costs a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:

-Business Degree preferred. *IT is most important, but candidates minoring in a business field or candidates who have an undergraduate degree in business (if a master's degree student) is a plus.

-Prefer experience in Software Development with Java related technologies, Databases (SQL or DB2), Infrastructure experience like Windows and/or Linux.
