The Pricing Intern role will focus on delivery of assigned pricing projects within the Business Intelligence and Insights department.
The Business Intelligence and Insights group leads the ITG Brands category and brand-insights that drive bottom-line performance ensuring that ITGB achieves its cigarettes and mass market cigar volume/share objectives. A key aspect of the function is to support Marketing and Sales by providing brand and channel analysis in support of the business.
This opportunity will provide the right platform for the intern to gain exposure to ITGB business by working on a data-driven project designed to uncover key pricing insights for the mass market cigars category.
Project Scope & Responsibilities:
-This project will support the mass market cigars category team and will cover all aspects of pricing in relation to ITGB portfolio of cigar brands.
-Evaluate current pricing data source and develop recommendation for right structure for analysis and decision making within the cigar business.
-The Intern will use various data sources and reporting tools to scout, structure and analyze complex pricing data forms that cut across the cigar portfolio, providing key insights into relative pricing and brand performance versus competitive sets.
-Develop insights around pricing in relation to channels, flavor segments, geography, excise taxes, promotions and discounts.
-Employ basic analytical tools to build predictive models to deliver market based pricing analysis that frames market trends, competitive landscape insights and any un-met consumer pricing requirements.
-Provide recommendation to the cigars brand management team on portfolio pricing across various performance metric (share,nvolume, margins, discounts etc.).
-Develop project management skills, providing clear plans and milestones to drive the project to completion.
-At the end of the 10 week period the intern is expected to have honed skills on MS Excel, PowerPoint and presentation to diverse audiences.
-By 10 weeks, the intern will demonstrate ability to work independently, use initiative, follow through, and complete the project while working with various stakeholders within the Sales and Marketing teams.
-Develop communication skills enabling effective collaboration and relationship building across various levels of employees.
-Gained basic understanding of the activities within classic consumer goods company.
