Intern Responsibilities

An internship with TEKsystems allows students to learn all aspects of staffing operations, account management, customer service, and other business skills while getting to apply these skills directly on the job. Students can expand their business abilities and explore new areas of interest all while having a great time with the TEKsystems team members.

TEKsystems interns have the opportunity to learn the staffing industry, from operations to account management, as well as develop key business and customer service skills that can be applied to any field. More than just an educational experience, TEKsystems interns gain practical experience, giving them an accurate idea of what it would be like to work in a full-time recruiter or sales position. Students can expand their business acumen and explore new areas of interest, all while working in a fun, diverse, team-oriented environment. If you don’t want to take our word for it, take our interns’—nearly 50 percent join us full time after graduation.

Internship Overview:
-Formal training to introduce the basics of a career in the staffing industry
-Assigned mentors to guide you through the experience and provide you with the necessary resources to complete day-to-day assignments and longer term projects
-Interns who successfully complete the program will have the opportunity to be considered for a full-time Recruiter/Sales Management Trainee position
-Assist the office with a sales territory review, resume sourcing, and contracting prospective candidates
-Interns will have the opportunity to shadow and interact with recruiters, account managers, and leadership to gain a better understanding of a career in sales, our customer base, and candidate pool
-Each intern will be assigned a final presentation project
-Executive guest speaker calls to learn about different career paths available at TEKsystems
-Assist the office with sales territory reviews, resume sourcing and candidate placements

Please note: all Fellows will attend the Leonard Kaplan Leadership Institute at the Center for Creative Leadership on either June 11 & 12, 2018 or June 18 & 19, 2018. If hired as an intern through the Fellows Program, you will attend one of the sessions in June.

Required Qualifications:

-Junior or Senior
-Strong desire to work in sales
-Excellent ability to establish and maintain solid, genuine relationships
-Accountable and have the ability to work independently as well as with a team
-Ability to multi-task and remain organized in a fast paced work environment
-Professional demeanor and presence
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-Strong problem solving abilities
-Ability to work with limited supervision and good follow-through skills
-PC literate in the Windows environment, specifically MS Word, Internet Explorer and Outlook
